DMS100 series is RS485 Modbus sensor with unlimited application potential. Due to its simplicity, the Modbus protocol is a widely used method of communication for sensing and automation. They are used for environmental monitoring, agriculture, smart buildings, health care and so on. Sensors are wired to a twisted pair cable bus, which distributes power and carries data lines. Small OLED display shows latest measuring results and with user buttons is used for easy setup of devices in the field. Supply voltage range include 12V and 24V supply typically found in industry. Thanks to low power up to 200 units may be attached to the single twisted pair cable more than 1km long. Accessing DMS100 sensor network from computer or gateway over USB, Ethernet, WiFi and more interfaces is easy with DSH105 series sensor hub device or any other RS485 compatible converter, PLC or HMI.
Modbus is a openly published and royalty-free data communications protocol originally published by Modicon in 1979 for use with its programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Modbus is an open protocol, meaning that it's free for manufacturers to build into their equipment without having to pay royalties. It has become a de facto standard communication protocol and is now a commonly available means of connecting industrial electronic devices from different manufacturers.

Different sensor types are available with several physical quantities. Some devices are single physical sensor while others are combining multiple quantities in a single device. Sensor name consists of the device family name plus the sensor type number. For example DMS101 is name for DMS100 series NTC temperature sensor with 01 sensor type number.
