Hello and welcome to our very first blog about a special project that we are developing with the help of our friends from Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade (ETF) and Institute of Technical Sciences of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (ITN). What is also important is that the potential of our work has been recognized by the Innovation Fund of Republic of Serbia, who are partially funding SOFIS.
SOFIS* (Solar Facility Insight System) is a system we are designing for wireless monitoring of solar installations/plants and real-time production prediction.
Nowadays solar power plant monitoring is a challenging task in engineering terms that has became important with mass production and market availability of low cost solar cells.
Due to equipment failures, performance degradation over time and incidents, running a solar plant requires continual performance monitoring in order for it to operate optimally.
Maximizing power production from a solar plant while lowering maintenance costs is mandatory for investment payoff and profit.
This is where our system comes.
Our blog will keep you updated on project development. Stay with us if you want to learn more. Let us know if you have any questions or suggestions.
Until next time,
*The project is financed by the Innovation Fund from the budget of the Republic of Serbia from the division of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, through the Serbia Competitiveness and Jobs Project (loan agreement with the World Bank).
